#StorySaturday: Jade's Story
Coming out can often be a big step and impactful part of anyone’s journey. Therefore, Pride Palace has created #StorySaturday, where we attempt to amplify the stories of people from our community each week. We are honored that many in our community have decided to share their stories with us! While it’s important everyone knows that you should come out when YOU feel ready, we thought that sharing the stories and lessons of others could help people who may be struggling to come out. Without any further ado, this #StorySaturday will be featuring Jade, a proud member of the Pride Palace community.
Jade's story
Jade uses the pronouns she/her and they/them. Jade explained to Pride Palace that it all started off with her questioning her sexuality. Being curious and wanting to learn more, Jade would go on Google and look up all the pride flags and their meanings.
“I then came across the term androsexual,” said Jade. “ I told my mom about this and told her that I identify with this sexuality.”
Jade felt good about herself for some time. However, after more time passed, they began questioning their sexuality again.
“I started to think I was bi with a romantic preference for men,” she explained.
Similar to the first time, Jade told her mom about this and felt good. However, with more time, Jade’s questioning began one last time. Jade came out as pan and has not questioned her sexuality ever since.
Pride Palace is beyond proud of Jade for staying true to herself and inspiring others to do the same. It’s okay to not know how you identify and let life guide you toward fully understanding your identity! The LGBTQ+ community does not discriminate, and neither does Pride Palace. If you would like to share your story with us and see your name in one of our blogs, don’t hesitate! Remember you can share your own story by joining our Facebook group or by direct messaging our Instagram page. Happy Saturday, Pride Palace family!
