Pride or Price? Why You Should Purchase from Pride Palace Instead of Amazon
With a wide range of products, Pride Palace aims at making all people feel loved, accepted, and valued.
We encourage everyone in the LGBTQ+ community to physically showcase their pride and celebrate their identities. Although there are thousands of other companies out there who sell similar merchandise, we believe we are the only one relentlessly encouraging Pride 365 days a year. Across social media, there has been an extensive debate about why anyone would buy from us when you can get cheaper products on Amazon. Although we cannot compete with Amazon on price, they cannot touch our level of PRIDE. Here’s why you should buy from Pride Palace instead of Amazon:
1) Company size and focus
Amazon is an Internet enterprise that sells a broad assortment of products; some of them include LGBTQ+ merchandise. It is a large corporation with over one million employees. Pride Palace specializes in products geared towards the LGBTQ+ community. We are a small business with five caring employees, some of which identify within the LGBTQ+ community.
2) Prices and donations
Although Amazon does offer discreet packaging and low prices, they also use that profit to donate to anti-LGBTQ+ politicians. According to The Guardian, Amazon donated over $450,000 to politicians who voted against the Equality Act.
Meanwhile, Pride Palace offers discreet packaging, fair prices, and constant deals AND donates to LGBTQ+ organizations and charities year-round. Amid all the violence, hatred, and inequality in the world today, we are here to amplify the voices of all marginalized individuals. Each month we donate a portion of all proceeds to charity, spotlight the voices of influencers, and remain committed to sharing important messages related to the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Palace uses its platforms to raise awareness and spark conversations that benefit the community. We will continue to show our pride and not allow our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors to fight the battle for equality alone.
3) Morals and values
It is no news how unethical and brutal working conditions are for some Amazon employees. The company’s history features numerous lawsuits, petitions, and strikes from ex- and current employees for many different reasons. Boredpanda posted an article about eleven months ago featuring the experiences and work conditions of 31 Amazon current and past employees. “Lowest point of my life. Vowed to never go back,” tweeted one of them.
In addition, Amazon only mentions pride once a year, if at all. Pride Palace, however, values and educates on pride 365 days a year. Our mission isn’t to sell products; it’s to give products a larger purpose. At Pride Palace, we believe that purpose is to spread love, acceptance, and support to all.
Without naming the companies, we asked the Pride Palace community on Instagram to vote for which company they would buy from, given a few facts about each. Company A is Amazon, and Company B is Pride Palace. These were the results:
Pride or Price? Cheap prices may be attractive, but is it really worth it? Unlike Amazon, Pride Palace cares about each and every single shopper, reader, or browser of our platforms. Pride Palace hopes to help all people to spread love and be full of Pride. Whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or are an ally, we support you and hope you will join our palace of equality. We're more than just a brand, we're a way of life - and together can build a better world for us all.
